SUMMARY:U24U Webinar #2: Energy Sharing Models and Flexibility Delivery from Energy Communities
DESCRIPTION:Energy communities (ECs) are gaining prominence in Europe and globally due to their potential to expand local renewable generation, self-consumption, and storage. As the energy transition accelerates, local energy sharing and peer-to-peer (P2P) trading are becoming a cornerstone of decentralised, community-led energy systems.\nThis webinar, hosted by VITO in collaboration with the U2Demo Horizon Europe project, coordinated by INESC-ID, addresses the different forms local energy sharing can take, how it can support flexibility delivery, and underlying opportunities and challenges.\nThe session will feature expert presentations followed by a panel discussion with stakeholders from system operation, retail, energy communities, research, and policy:\nPresenters:\n\nDiogo Pinto Ferreira (INESC-ID)\nAnibal Sanjab (VITO/EnergyVille)\nWicak Ananduta (VITO/EnergyVille)\nYucun Lu (KU Leuven/EnergyVille)\nNicolas Fatras (Artelys)\n\nPanelists from EU Institutions and Stakeholders:\n\nRita Alexandra Mota (EDP and Eurelectric)\nMaximilian Urban (Netz Niederösterreich and E.DSO)\nFrancisco Luque (INTELLIGENT project)\nBart De Bruyne (KLIMAAN)\n\nDate: 20 March 2026\nLocation: Online\nRegister here ( https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSf9n6U4jYJUa2wggYZGYN40o8U_2i-EDVKkPAoWoPX7L02htA/viewform )\n
