Abstract:

Mathematical models play a fundamental role in systems biology. Models based on approximate representations are an important solution for obtaining useful models. In this seminar I should present some results on various formalisms and discuss their utility. Furthermore, I shall present preliminary results on their performance on fitting experimental dynamic data. Finally, I will briefly discuss the instances in which each of the proposed formalisms can be more appropriate.
