Today we celebrate our female students and researchers who are shaping the digital future across the many areas of Information and Communication Technology (ICT). From computer science to electrical engineering, their expertise and every contribution, adds to INESC-ID’s relevance in the field of ICT.

With technology being increasingly more present in a wide variety of fields, it is crucial to highlight the importance of empowering all interested girls to learn skills that could benefit their future careers and economic independence.

Since 2010, the 4th Thursday of April marks the International Girls in ICT Day with the aim to raise awareness to the critical need for more girls and women in ICT and encouraging them to pursue studies and careers in this sector.
