Type of position: Research Grant (BI)
Duration: 3 months
Deadline to apply: 2025-07-22
DescriptionONE (1) research grant for students with BSc degree with reference number BI|2025/727 under the scope of the Project UNIFY with the refª 2022.06780.PTDC funded by Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, is available under the following conditions:
OBJECTIVES | FUNCTIONS
The objective of the work is the development and implementation of Trusted Execution Environments. In particular, the grant holder will start by studying the Arm TrustZone and deploy an initial application using secure and non-secure worlds in a ZCU106 board. After the initial study, he will make a review of the requirements for the design and implementation of a similar solution for RISC-V systems.

DescriptionONE (1) research grant for students with BSc degree with reference number BI|2025/729 under the scope of the Project ATLAS with the refª 2024.06584.CERN, funded by Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, is now available under the following conditions:
OBJECTIVES | FUNCTIONS
The objective of the work is the development of a framework to model the impact of GPU dynamic voltage and frequency scaling (DVFS) on performance, power and energy-efficiency metrics. Ultimately, the objective is the development of a method to predict how to apply voltage and frequency scaling on GPUs in order to improve energy efficiency

Type of position: Research Grant (BI)
Duration: 6 months
Deadline to apply: 2025-07-16
DescriptionONE (1) research grant for students with BSc degree with reference number Refª BI|2025/723 under the scope of the Project COFFEE FLOWER – Refª 2022.01547.PTDC, funded by Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, is now available under the following conditions:
OBJECTIVES | FUNCTIONS
The CoffeeFlower project addresses a fundamental problem to agricultural productivity and sustainability, regarding the impact of warming (supra-optimal temperatures) in flower fertility of coffee (Coffea canephora and Coffea arabica). While previous findings showed that some elite genotypes have greater intrinsic heat resilience than expected at leaf level, and that elevated air CO2 can increase such resilience, there is a clear lack of knowledge about how heat can disturb flower development and fertility, and whether it is affected by CO2 levels.
This work will tackle the integrative bioinformatics analysis of the multi-omic molecular data generated by the project partners working in the field/greenhouse with the aim of unveiling molecular mechanisms underpinning the effect of temperature and CO2 in coffee flowering. This will encompass developing a custom data analysis pipeline that employs state-of-the-art bioinformatics techniques for the analysis of multi-dimensional multi-omics data, as well as exploring novel Artificial Intelligence methods.
