Research Grant (BI)
BI|2025/700 - Project DIXcover
Type of position: Research Grant (BI)
Duration: 12 months
Deadline to apply: 2025-05-16
DescriptionONE (1) research grant for students with Master degree with reference number BI|2025/700 under the scope of the Project DIXCover - I3PR009045 funded by INESC-ID, is available under the following conditions:
OBJECTIVES | FUNCTIONS
Application of deep learning methods to digital pathology
Development of deep learning algorithms for the computational analysis of whole-slide images. The objective is to identify relevant biological features and to perform cell counting in Ki-67 stained slides. These results will then be included in a pipeline for the diagnostic of the existence and proliferation level of tumors in human tissues.

OBJECTIVES | FUNCTIONS
Deep neural network architectures for explainable dual-process computation
Design and development of deep neural network architectures and algorithms for the implementation of dual process computation
approaches that improve the ability of existing vision and language models to reason using language and visual inputs. Particular attention will be given to studying approaches to reasoning in continuous latent spaces and to the issue of explain ability of new and existing approaches.
