social Identity and partNership in VIrTual Environments (INVITE)

Type: National Project Project

Duration: from 2010 Oct 01 to 2013 Dec 31

Financed by: FCT

Prime Contractor: INESC-ID (Other)

The focus of the project will be around the notion of partnership of a human with another human or a virtual agent in a virtual environment: the project will study how partnership is created, maintained or broken during an interaction supporting the realization of a particular task in a virtual environment. The hypothesis we propose is that inclusion of AI models that incorporate social intelligence, inspired by human behavior, in a virtual environment will foster believability in virtual agents within the context of partnership.
