Type: National Project Project

Duration: from 2016 May 01 to 2020 Aug 30

Financed by: FCT

Prime Contractor: R - INESC-ID Lisboa (Other) - Lisboa, Portugal

This proposal aims at developing and applying computational tools towards understanding situations in which individual goals collide with collective endeavors, in the particular context of global governance, climate change agreements and complex political networks. We aim at describing the global process in a bottom-up approach, in which overall cooperation will emerge from the self- organization of a number of decentralized initiatives/contributions that help solve the global problem. To do so, we shall i) identify the key ingredients involved and their impact on collective action and ii) understand how to deploy such a bottom-up architecture in practice.
