The main objectives of the Innovation Training Network (ITN) on Automatic Processing of Pathological Speech (TAPAS) are: * to train young researchers equipped with skills lying at the cross-section of speech processing, clinical practice and industry; * to advance the field of the speech processing in order to underpin robust practitioner-friendly tools for detection, assessment and treatment of pathological speech; * to promote innovation in speech and language technologies for assisted living, care and rehabilitation of individuals with chronic speech pathologies; * to create the critical mass of resources and researchers necessary to ensure the long-term future of the nascent field of pathological speech processing. To achieve these objectives, TAPAS aims to train a cohort of 15 early stage researchers (ESRs) through a diverse multi-disciplinary and inter-disciplinary research and training network. The ESR project offered at INESC-ID focus on the development of speech therapy games for children with speech disorders.
