New foundations for micro-services and serverless systems (MS3)
Type: National Project Project
Duration: from 2021 Feb 01 to 2024 Jan 31
Financed by: FCT
Prime Contractor: R - INESC-ID Lisboa (Other) - Lisboa, Portugal
Distributed systems are moving away from traditional designs where a handful of monoliths interact in well-defined and predictable ways, and becoming micro-service architectures, where the distributed systems broken into a large number of small, self-contained and loosely-coupled subsystems, with their own autonomous service state, exporting a set of operations to other services, and establishing very complex graphs of interactions among the set of available micro-services. The goal of this project is to contribute towards shaping two crucial aspects of micro-service and cloud-based systems:consistency and elasticity
