EquiVet.AI Workshop: Bringing AI into Veterinary Practice

The Equivet.AI Workshop will showcase how AI technologies are being applied in real veterinary practice, from automatic clinical report generation using audio notes to equine clinical decision-support systems, within the EquiVet.AI project led by INESC-ID.

The programme includes demonstrations of AI systems integrated into clinical veterinary workflows, including tools such as VetScribe, EquiBreath, and EquiItch. These systems apply natural language processing and image analysis to support clinical decision-making and streamline reporting processes.

The event will conclude with a round table (17h30–18h30) on the topic of trustworthy AI in clinical practice, featuring invited experts in ethics, cybersecurity, and law:

  • Helena Moniz (FLUL/CLUL/INESC-ID): President of the Ethics Committee of the Center for Responsible AI and coordinator of the Science4Policy initiative Bridge AI.

  • Nuno Santos (IST/INESC-ID): Leader of the Systems Security team within the INESC-ID’s Distributed and Parallel Secure Systems Scientific Area, specialist in security and privacy.

  • João Marques Martins (FDUL): Executive Coordinator of the postgraduate programme AI in Legal Practice and its Regulations, and co-founder of J. Martins & T. Crespo – Law Firm, SP, RL.
