AI Regulation: Bridge AI Conference 2024

On October 19, 2024, the Bridge AI Conference will gather experts, business leaders, and policymakers to discuss the challenges and opportunities in implementing the European Union’s AI Act. Organized under the INESC-ID project, Bridge AI, the event will present preliminary results from the initiative, which aims to position Portugal as a leader in responsible AI innovation.
Led by Helena Moniz, from the scientific area Human Language Technologies, Bridge AI seeks to bridge academia, industry, and the public sector to foster the ethical development and regulation of AI. The project is coordinated by INESC-ID, in partnership with the Champalimaud Foundation and Unbabel, and aims to support policymakers in implementing the AI Act.
The conference will feature key discussions on the technical and legal challenges of regulating AI, while ensuring that innovation is not stifled. With international experts and top national decision-makers participating, the event is set to be a significant step in positioning Portugal at the forefront of AI regulation in Europe.
