INESC Brussels HUB Winter Meeting 2026

The INESC Brussels HUB Winter Meeting 2026 will take place on 29 January 2026, in Coimbra, Portugal, under the theme “Our Future in FP10 and ECF – Aligning Institutions & Policy”. The meeting is a strategic gathering convened by INESC Brussels HUB and the INESC institutes to position the INESC ecosystem for the next EU Framework Programme (FP10) and the European Competitiveness Fund (ECF).

The 2nd day of the meeting is open to the wider INESC community and focuses on strengthening institutional readiness and strategic positioning for the next EU research and innovation cycle.

Day 1 – 28 January

Closed-door, by invitation only (Chatham House rules)

Key EU invited participants

  • University rectors and rector teams (INESC member institutions)
  • Institute directors, board members and key INESC shareholders

Day 2 – 29 January

Open to the INESC community (free of charge; prior registration required)

  • A policy keynote on FP10 and ECF by Carla Matias dos Santos (Permanent Representation of Portugal to the EU)
  • Hands-on strategic sessions across the following thematic areas:
    • Clean Transition and Industrial Decarbonisation
    • Digital Leadership
    • Resilience and Security, Defence Industry and Space
    • Health, Biotech, Agriculture and Bioeconomy
  • Matchmaking and opportunity identification for the Horizon Europe 2026–2027 Work Programmes

The meeting will feature the participation of EuroTech Universities (TUM, TU Delft, ETH, EPFL, Technion, Eindhoven) as well as invited RTOs, including Fraunhofer, Tecnalia, VTT, CEA and TNO.
