INESC-ID took part in the 4th edition of the AI, Data and Robotics Forum (ADRF 2026), organised by the AI, Data, Robotics Association (ADRA) and hosted in Porto with INESC TEC as local organiser. The event took place from 13 to 14 October, with over 480 participants, and brought together leading figures from Europe’s AI, Data and Robotics community to discuss how to accelerate the adoption of artificial intelligence across industry and society, fostering closer links between research, innovation and real-world applications.

Having recently joined ADRA, INESC-ID reinforced its presence in the European AI ecosystem: Sílvia Castro, Head of the Innovation Management Office (IMO), contributed to the panel discussion on AI skills and workforce gaps in strategic industrial domains; Ana Paiva, Senior Researcher in Artificial Intelligence for People and Society (AIPS), took part in sessions exploring the future of science in the age of AI and the role of Physical AI, Robotics and Computational Biology in strengthening European competitiveness; Arlindo Oliveira, Senior Researcher and President of INESC, joined ADRA President Emanuela Girardi in the plenary session “The Catalyst Manifesto”, reflecting on the opportunities and challenges shaping Europe’s AI future.

The Forum provided an important platform for collaboration, knowledge exchange and strategic discussion, highlighting the collective efforts needed to ensure that AI delivers meaningful impact for industry, society and European competitiveness.
