INESC-ID joins INESC Brussels HUB Winter Meeting
INESC-ID join the 40th edition of the INESC Brussels HUB Winter Meeting, which took place on 28–29 January 2026 in Coimbra, gathering European policymakers, Portuguese authorities, university rectors, research leaders, and the broader INESC community.
The first day began with the opening session which featured Inês Lynce (President of INESC-ID and Chair of the INESC Brussels HUB Management Committee and President) and leadership representatives of different INESC institutes. In the Noble Hall of the Rectorate at the University of Coimbra, selected participants explored how European research and innovation governance is evolving in the context of the forthcoming FP10 and the European Competitiveness Fund (ECF).
On the following day, the Winter Meeting, open to a broader audience, took place at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Science and Technology. Researchers, project managers, European RTO representatives and INESC teams gathered to discuss institutional readiness and practical strategic positioning for FP10 and the ECF. The day was organised into parallel thematic sessions across various domains. During these sessions participants assessed institutional readiness explored thematic opportunities and gaps and considered strategic approaches to position their teams and organisations for the next phase of the European research and innovation cycle.
The Winter Meeting also served as the venue for the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC) and the INESC Group to reinforce cooperation between the two organisations.
