In an article titled Como é que a IA nos vê? Num mundo de homens (How does AI see us? In a world of men) Luísa Coheur and Helena Moniz, INESC-ID researchers within the Human Language Technologies (HLT) research area, joined a conversation with Público Newspaper about the biases deeply embedded within machine learning algorithms. The researchers help shed light on how artificial intelligence models often reflect existing stereotypes but also perpetuate and amplify them.
